A good Instagram EMV is 1.5-3x your actual campaign spend. Above 3x indicates an exceptionally efficient campaign, typically from nano or micro creators with high engagement. Below 1x means the equivalent reach would have been cheaper through paid Instagram ads.
Multiply total impressions by the platform CPM, then apply a trust multiplier. Example: 180,000 impressions x $15 CPM / 1,000 = $2,700 base EMV. Apply a 1.5x trust multiplier = $4,050 final EMV. Use $12-$15 CPM for mixed Feed and Reels content.
Report both. EMV is the awareness metric that translates reach into paid media terms. ROI is the performance metric that shows revenue return.
