How to build your first campaign in KALO IQ: step by step

Your first campaign in KALO IQ takes about 45 minutes to set up from a blank account. This walkthrough covers every step from shortlist to live tracking.

Step 1: Build your creator shortlist

Go to Discover and run a filtered search using the criteria from your campaign brief. For a standard micro influencer campaign, start with Platform + Followers 10K-100K + US audience 70%+ + Engagement 3.5%+ + your niche.

Review each creator's full profile. Check their last 10 posts for content quality and brand fit. Save the strongest candidates to a new list called something like "Campaign 1 - Shortlist." Aim for 20-30 creators in your shortlist - more than you plan to use so you have backup options when some do not respond.

Step 2: Send outreach

From your shortlist, select the creators you want to contact first (start with 15-20). Click Start outreach. Write your outreach message:

  • Reference something specific they posted recently (1 sentence)
  • Describe your product and what you are offering (gifted or paid)
  • Include the fee or fee range if paid (this increases response rate by 30-50%)
  • Include a clear deadline for response (creates urgency without pressure)

Step 3: Create the campaign record

Once you have confirmed creators, go to Campaigns > New campaign. Fill in:

  • Campaign name (for internal tracking)
  • Start and end dates
  • Budget (optional but useful for ROI calculation)
  • Goal: awareness, conversions or both

Add each confirmed creator to the campaign. KALO IQ generates a unique UTM tracking link for each creator automatically. These links appear in each creator's campaign record.

Step 4: Send briefs with tracking links

Copy each creator's UTM tracking link from their campaign record. Include this link in the brief you send them. When their post goes live with this link, KALO IQ records the clicks and conversions attributed to that creator specifically.

Your brief should include: posting deadline, content guidelines, disclosure requirements (#ad or #sponsored as required by the FTC), the UTM link and any product delivery details if gifting.

Step 5: Monitor and report

Once posts go live, the campaign dashboard shows clicks, reach and attributed conversions per creator in real time. After the campaign closes, go to Reports and generate a campaign summary. You can export this as CSV or PDF from the Growth plan upward.

Use the per-creator data to identify which creator types produced the best CPE and ROAS. This data shapes your next campaign's creator selection criteria.
